Showcase your department and/or major(s) to students and the community at the
14th Annual Islander Lights by participating in the

Holiday Academic Discipline Tree Forest.

Tree Display

Again this year, Islander Lights, which takes place November 22, 5:30-8:30 PM, will include a forest of mini holiday trees decorated to represent academic disciplines at TAMU-CC. Departments who choose to participate will be given a 3 ft tree to decorate in a manner that reflects the content area or represents the department/discipline(s) in some way. We will provide the tree, extension cord (for lights), and a sign for your discipline to identify your tree. Be creative and have fun – use items unique to you and your department to decorate your tree!

This is a fun way to get involved in the festival and to give your discipline visual representation at Islander Lights, which is one of the biggest events of the year with over 1,000 in attendance. The department with the best tree will win coffee and cookies for their next department meeting. To get involved, please complete registration form at the link above by November 8.

We will deliver the undecorated tree(s) to your department.

Decorated trees need to be brought to the UC Involvement Center (room 218) by noon on November 20.
